KENAS PARTICIPATES IN THE AFRICA INDUSTRIALIZATION DAY NOVEMBER 2012 EVENT
Africa Industrialization Day is an annual event which is celebrated on November 20th . This year,however, the event was celebrated on both 20th and 21st November. The aim of having the Africa Industrialisation Day is to stimulate the International Community’s commitment to the Industrialisation of Africa.This forum acts as a platform for Government and other organizations in many countries examine ways to stimulate Africa’s Industrialization process. The 2012 theme was accelerating Industrialization for boosting Intra-Africa trade.
This year’s Africa Industrialization Day highlights the important role Intra-Africa can play in reducing poverty, Increasing food and nutrition security and supporting sustainable development. The main event took place at Kenya International Conference Center (KICC) where it involved all parastatals under the ministry of industrialization plus their invited exhibitors. KENAS participated by having a marketing stall at the event. Important guests like the PS. Eng. Dr. Karanja Kibiko, the Assistant Minister, Ministry of Industrialization, Hon. Kariithi Mureithi, and other senior officials of the ministry of industrialization visited our tent.
UTAWALA ACADEMY’S LIBRARY GETS STOCKED!
Utawala Academy is a beneficiary of new textbooks and story books donated by KENAS worth KES 150,000. This was a pledge fulfilled after the Chairperson of KENAS visited the school and saw a great need of lack of text books for the students.
KENAS ACCREDITS AZANIA PHYSICAL LABORATORIES LIMITED
The Managing Director, Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS), Sammy Milgo (right) issues an Accreditation Certificate to Managing Director, Azania Physical Laboratories, Gerald Okoko ( left). The accreditation scope for the laboratory was force, temperature, pressure and mass.
KENAS ACCREDITS AGRIQ-QUEST LIMITED
The Managing Director, Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS), Sammy Milgo (right) issues an Accreditation Certificate to Managing Director, AgriQ-Quest, Fredrick Muthuri (left). AgriQ-Quest has been accredited as a Testing Laboratory upon satisfying the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005. AgriQ-Quest joins as one among 15 conformity bodies accredited by KENAS. The accreditation scope includes the testing of Copper (Cu) and Zinc (Zn) in water as well as Salmonella and Coliforms in food samples.
