The Kenya Accreditation Service is a State Corporation established under the Kenya Accreditation Service Act 2019 mandated to accredit and exercise oversight over conformity assessment providers and maintain an internationally recognized accreditation system.

ACCREDITATION OFFICER – INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION BODIES (2021/STE/01)

(Ref: 2021/STE/01) – One (1) Position; Contract period: Six (6) months

Reporting to the Manager, Inspection and Verification Bodies, the selected candidate will be responsible for;

  1. Implementing, policies procedures for maintenance of an internationally recognized management system for accreditation
  2. Assessing conformity assessment bodies for competence
  3. Updating the register of the accreditation status of conformity assessment bodies
  4. Developing materials for promoting the use of regional and international accreditation marks on certificates or reports issued by conformity assessment bodies
  5. Reviewing and commenting on national, regional and international documents, standards and regulations
  6. Collecting and collating the client’s feedback on accreditation activities.
  7. Assisting in loading records in Q-Pulse.
  8. Assisting in the planning of assessments.
  9. Collating of documents required for accreditation decision making.
  10. Drafting proposals aimed at promoting accreditation of conformity assessment activities are developed.
  11. Assisting in scheduling assessments for Inspection and Verification department.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Sciences or Engineering and related fields from a recognized institution;
  2. Computer Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and
  3. Fulfil the requirement of Chapter Six (6) of the constitution.

ACCREDITATION OFFICER – CALIBRATION LABORATORIES (2021/STE/02)

(Ref: 2021/STE/02) – One (1) Position; Contract period: Six (6) months

Reporting to the Manager, Calibration Laboratories, the selected candidate will be responsible for;

  1. Assisting in the management, preparation, updating and maintenance of schedules of accreditation, updating and uploading in the database of accredited and applicant clients within a defined annual schedule.
  2. Processing assigned accreditation activities from application stage to grant of accreditation and the subsequent annual maintenance of their accreditations.
  3. Assisting in undertaking assessment planning, scheduling and compiling the accreditation programme for assigned Clients
  4. Assessment participating in for various assessments within the department or as assigned
  5. Assisting in the coordination and tracking of the corrective action process timelines and liaising with the assessment team leader on submissions from assigned Clients
  6. Reviewing assessment reports for completeness and preparing assigned Client reports for peer review, decisions and preparing communication to clients on accreditation decisions
  7. Identifying suitable expertise from the assessor’s database, supporting the monitoring of the performance of team leaders, assessors and technical experts, compiling and collating required reports
  8. Liaising with applicant organisations and managing their applications and the assessment activities through to accreditation.
  9. Maintaining accurate records and reporting on all client information, and acting as the point of contact for assigned Clients and managing assigned assessment caseload for routine surveillance, re-assessment work, extensions to the accredited scope and tracking subsequent follow-up actions
  10. Acting as a liaison with the finance department in the preparation of proforma invoices, invoices for clients and in the payment of assessors.
  11. Assisting in responding to technical enquires, collecting and collating the Client feedback and preparing respective reports
  12. Assisting in preparations for various meetings, attending and preparing meeting outputs, including minutes

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences or Engineering related fields from a recognized institution;
  2. Proficiency in Computer applications, and
  3. Fulfil the requirement of Chapter Six (6) of the constitution.

  4. Assisting in Processing employee recruitment, promotion and exit documents;
  5. Assisting in the processing of leave applications, sick sheets and sick offs;
  6. Updating of Staff Medical details, National Hospital Insurance Service (NHIF) and National Social Security Service (NSSF) records;
  7. Maintaining complement control;
  8. Carrying out leave administration;
  9. Updating the human resource database; and
  10. Analyzing data on work environment and employees’ satisfaction surveys.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management/Development, Social science or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

(Ref: 2021/STE/08) – One (1) Position; Contract period: Six (6) months

Reporting to the Manager, Finance and Accounts, the selected candidate will be responsible for;

  1. Verifying, sorting, code and upload invoices into the ERP financial system for cheque processing;
  2. Managing accounts Payables;
  3. Managing accounts Receivables;
  4. Managing impress and its accounting;
  5. Reconciling accounts payable transactions;
  6. Participating in external and internal Audits and ensure its effective implementation of recommendation;
  7. Filing statutory returns to compliance with the relevant applicable laws and regulations pertaining to financial management;
  8. Preparing and submission of financial, accounting, management reports;
  9. Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual sectional reports;
  10. Generating and send out Invoices;
  11. Carrying out debt collection and inform on the status;
  12. Preparing budgets and provide periodic financial reports;
  13. Post and maintain transactions to journals, ledgers and other records to enable the generation of reports;
  14. Reconcile customer accounts by generating reports for debtors;
  15. Preparation of financial, accounting and management reports on weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually; and
  16. Process the Payroll and related statutory payments and returns.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelors’ degree in Commerce, Business Administration or related field;

INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER (2021/STE/07)

(Ref: 2021/STE/07) – One (1) Position; Contract period: Six (6) months

Reporting to the Chief Manager, Corporate Services, the selected candidate will be responsible for;

  1. Providing technical support for the ICT infrastructure and telephony systems including hardware, software support and help desk services;
  2. Maintaining various systems documentation and maintaining records (logbooks) of ICT equipment and software licenses;
  3. Supporting in the process of receiving, installing, configuration, certification of new or upgrading of the ICT Systems and equipment;
  4. Supporting monitoring, detection and reporting on ICT equipment performance;
  5. Servicing and maintaining ICT equipment and associated peripherals of ICT equipment;
  6. Updating and maintaining user access rights and credentialing;
  7. Performing data entry activities, data integrity and interrogation routines;
  8. Programming and testing ICT programs according to instructions and specifications;
  9. Administering and updating the Service’s Website, Intranet and Databases;
  10. Supporting the administration of Servers including Domain Controllers, Active Directory and Exchange Server;
  11. Troubleshooting analysis of Servers and user applications;
  12. Implementing and monitoring of systems and databases backup routines;
  13. Managing the Network and Internet security operations including biometric systems;
  14. Supporting in liaison with Human Resources in the organization ICT user application training and delivering basic ICT user training and awareness programmers; and
  15. Liaising with ICT providers in the acquisition and maintenance of ICT equipment and systems.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelors in IT or Computer Science or a related field from a recognized institution;
  2. Proficiency in Computer applications and systems;
