Summary of professional experience

Chairperson Evah Oduor is a standards expert with over 20 years of experience in Quality Policy and Infrastructure. She holds an MSc in Biochemistry, Master of Business Administration and BSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry from the University of Nairobi.

She works as a Physikalische Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) –Quality Infrastructure Expert in the project Upgrading of Quality Infrastructure in Africa for the Organizational development of Africa Standardization Electrotechnical Commission (AFSEC). In addition, she has immensely contributed to Standards Development and International Trade and Quality Assurance Training in Standardization and Conformity Assessment.

She worked as a Consultant/ Director at IEC Africa Regional Centre, Nairobi, Kenya. She has also worked as a Strategic Advisor and Senior National Standardization Expert for The British Standards Institution (BSI): BSI, an International Expert on Quality Policy/Infrastructure for UNIDO-Vienna, Key Expert and Team Leader COMESA Region for Enabling Environments Ltd., Team Leader Mauritius Bureau of Standards (MBS), Team leader and member of the Technical Management Board for the EAC Secretariat and as the Managing Director of Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).

Notably, she helped design and develop the National Quality Policy framework for Sudan and South Sudan. Developed the COMESA Strategic Plan for Standardization and Quality Assurance (ACP-EU TBT Programme). In addition, she continues to advise on national, regional and international organizations in Standardization and Quality Infrastructure.
