Bodies Under Sanction - Suspension
Section 15(1) of the Kenya accreditation Service Act, 2019 provides for suspension of Accredited Conformity Assessment Bodies where they are in breach of their obligations. The suspension period is for a maximum of 6 months within which the CAB is required to conform to the requirements or have their accreditation withdrawn. Suspension can be Voluntary where a CAB requests to suspended their accreditation for a period of time due to various circumstances or Mandatory where the Service issues a suspension due a failure to pay all the relevant fees (financial suspension) or follow the relevant standard, technical guidelines and rules necessary for maintaining accreditation (technical suspension).
