Calibration Laboratories

ACCREDITATION TO ISO/IEC 17025

ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of precise and dependable outcomes in calibration and measurement services across diverse industries delivered by technically competent calibration laboratories. This competence depends on a number of factors including:

  1. Staff members' qualifications, training, and experience.
  2. Well-maintained and properly calibrated equipment.
  3. Sufficient quality
  4. Suitable calibration methods.
  5. Measurement traceability to the International System of Units (SI).
  6. Precise recording and reporting methods

Calibration holds paramount importance as it upholds accuracy, consistency, and repeatability in measurements, thereby ensuring dependable benchmarks and outcomes. The absence of regular calibration can lead to equipment deviations from specifications, resulting in imprecise measurements and posing risks to quality, safety, and equipment durability.

The KENAS Calibration Laboratory Accreditation Scheme plays a pivotal role in enhancing the operational efficiency and competitive edge of domestic industries. It is guided by the KENAS policies (PL-35, PL 36, and PL 38).
