The need for ongoing confidence in laboratory performance is essential not only for laboratories and their customers but also for other interested parties, such as regulators, accreditation bodies and other organizations that specify requirements for laboratories.
KENAS accreditation of proficiency testing scheme providers’ cuts across various laboratories e.g. testing, calibration, and medical laboratories.
Proficiency Testing (comparative testing) is an important way of meeting the requirements of ISO 15189, ISO/IEC 17025 in the area of quality assurance of laboratory results in comparison with peers based on evaluations by the Proficiency test providers as guided by the standard.
ISO/IEC 17043
Having developed from ISO/IEC guide 43-1:1997, ISO/IEC guide 43-2:1997, ISO/IEC 17043:2010 and currently ISO/IEC 17043:2023 this specifies the requirements for proficiency testing.
